BOKULPUR SEASON 3 RETURNS WITH A NEW STORY AND NEW CHARACTERS After a two-year break, popular Bangla mega serial Bokulpur is returning with its third season. The serial will also be available on DeeptoPlay, allowing viewers to watch the new season through the digital platform. A NEW CHAPTER AFTER TWO SUCCESSFUL SEASONS The first two seasons of Bokulpur were directed by Kaiser Ahmed. For Season 3, the directing responsibility has been taken over by Hasan Rezaul. Along with the change in director, the new season will introduce several changes in its story and characters. Rather than continuing exactly from the previous storyline, Season 3 will explore a new set of characters and conflicts against a different background. Romantic complications, family crises, and local rural politics will form important parts of the story. A major new element this season is the inclusion of the traditional Jatra Pala atmosphere. The story will explore the interest of village communities in Jatra performances and the different incidents and conflicts surrounding this traditional form of rural entertainment. This combination of family conflict, local politics, and Jatra Pala will give the new season a distinct cultural setting. A NEW CAST FOR SEASON 3 Several well-known Bangladeshi actors are joining Bokulpur Season 3. The cast includes Azizul Hakim, Deepa Khandakar, Sharaf Ahmed Jibon, Tahmina Sultana Mou, Sushma Sarkar, Saidur Rahman Pavel, Upoma, Silvia, Mostafiz Shaheen, Ahmed Gias, and Pankaj Majumdar, among others. The story is written by Ahmed Shahabuddin. Many of the actors from the previous seasons will not be returning for the third season. According to former director Kaiser Ahmed, several previous cast members chose not to participate following the change in director. The producer, however, attributed their absence to various reasons. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEW STORY According to director Hasan Rezaul, the new storyline will focus on the rural community's connection with Jatra Pala and the events and conflicts that develop around it. The traditional performance culture will become part of the wider story, bringing together entertainment, family relationships, local disputes, and village life. The new season will therefore introduce a different narrative approach while maintaining the rural identity associated with Bokulpur. THE JOURNEY OF BOKULPUR SO FAR Set against a rural backdrop, the first two seasons of Bokulpur gained popularity with stories revolving around family relationships, local conflicts, and rural politics. The first season concluded with 264 episodes during the period affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The second season began in 2022 and concluded in 2024 after 788 episodes. For Season 3, the production team has completed the first phase of shooting. Instead of committing to a fixed number of episodes, the continuation of the serial is planned to be based on audience response and popularity.
